On the 25th of November, at the English Premier League, Aston Villa is going to meet Arsenal. The home side will be trying hard to claim their first victory over Arsenal in 14 years, after enduring four English Premier League defeats to Arsenal in the recent years. Even if Aston Villa left the Emirates Stadium with all three points last year, the 1981/82 European champions haven’t defeated Arsenal on home soil since December 1998.
Unfortunately for Aston Villa, a lot of things have changed since then, when they finished on the sixth place. Paul Lambert’s players have lost two matches against both Manchester clubs, and situated themselves two points adrift of Wigan. Moreover, they will have to face an Arsenal that has been unbeaten in four games in all competitions.
The 2-0 victory achieved at home against Montpellier on Wednesday, saw midfielder Jack Wilshere net his first goal after returning from a 14-month layoff due to an ankle problem. Speaking of injuries, striker Darren Bent is expected to return from an ankle complaint as well. Still, players such as Richard Dunne, Joe Bennett, Chris Herd and Charles N’Zogbia remain sidelined for Villa. As for Arsenal, the winger Theo Walcott is expected to make a “visit” to Villa Park after sitting out the midweek Champions League match.
Judging by the statistics, I am going to place a bet on Arsenal’s victory. I bet 10 units at 1.66. The odds I used are from Bet365.
