The match between Queens Park Rangers and Reading, that took place on the 4th of November, ended in a 1-1 draw, meaning that I lost the bet I placed on Queens Park Rangers’s victory. The first goal was scored in the first half by Gorkss from Reading, more precisely in the 16th minute. The second goal came in the second half of the match, and was scored by Cisse from Queens Park Rangers, in the 66th minute of the game.
Both teams are still hoping for their first English Premier League win of the season, after the disjointed draw that took place at Loftus Road. Rangers, who hit the bar through Esteban Granero’s free-kick, managed to improve their game significantly after the break. Later, Adel Taarabt almost managed to score a goal, but Alex McCarthy saved it with his feet. The chance of Taarabt on the break, was the best opportunity for Queens Park Rangers to increase their efforts and give a slight hope for a victory.
All in all, even if the match was predictably short on real quality, the teams – desperate to get their season up and running – managed to provide plenty of excitement and tension.
