Steaua Bucharest managed to win the match against Molde and took the 3 points for their country. Their relatively comfortable victory also made me win the bet I made on Steaua’s victory. The two quickfire goals scored in the first half of the match brought Romanians a highly deserved 2-0 victory in the Europa League.
The spectacular opener of Vlad Chiriches was swiftly added to by Raul Rusescu, since the Romanian team got the reward for their early dominance. After the break, there was no let-up, but the keeper of Molde, Ole Soderberg, still tried to keep a respectable score line.
After nearly 15 minutes, Molde’s goal was threatened by Tanase’s corner, but Lukas Szukala managed to head over.
Here you can see what the atmosphere at the stadium was like:
The moment of Chiriches was truly spectacular. He conjured an overhead kick near the penalty spot, in order to find the bottom corner after Rusescu’s shot deflected up in the air. After the second goal added by Rusescu, Molde had hardly recovered their composure.
Before Molde finally mustered a worthy attack, Mihai Costea headed the corner wide of Alexandru Bourceanu and Soderberg saved the ball from Tanase. Still, Etaz Hussain didn’t manage to transform the corner of Magnus Stamnesstro into a goal.
All, in all, it was a spectacular match. The manager of Steaua Buchaest, Laurentiu Reghekampf, was very proud of the Romanian’s victory.
